Here is today's outfit of the day for work, I work in a store that requires us to mainly wear black which isn't a problem because most of the time I have on black. With our dress code mainly being black Iusually play around with cute shoes and accessories, today I chose to wear my cute cheetah print Sperry's and ruffled socks to add some flair and chicness to a plain outfit. I love this Forever 21 dress because it's loose and an easy piece to dress up or down, I got my Sperry's from Macy's a few years ago and my cute ruffled sock from Nordstrom. Happy Monday everyone, have a productive and stylish day!

All of these outfits come from Forever 21, I know a lot of people either say they hate Forever 21 or can never find anything but that is my go to store. I find 80% of my clothes from there you just have to have the patience to look, I find different pieces of clothing and pair them with other things to bring the looks all together. Throughout the week this is what I wore #WeeklyStyleMoments
The real fashion and style is on the streets: The art of street style!
The best thing about the fabulous time of the year when all of the great shows during the major fashion weeks are happening is the fashion that happens on the streets! Capturing the fashion of pedestrians has become a phenomenon and one of the most effortless types of style which is "street style". Street style is the personal style of the people that we see everyday or see on our way to and from that Is captured in the moment without much thought put into it. It's great to see how other people style the certain pieces of clothing that you may having been loving since you first saw them or how you canpiece someone's personality together based off of their sense of style which is the best part about looking at street style pictures. I like looking at street style photos more than looking at pictures of designs and garments at major fashion shows, they offer more inspiration in my opinion. Street style ccaptures people just being themselves and expressing themselves through fashion and their clothing which is what personal style is all about.
JOURNALING is vital!
I am a person that literally writes everything down, I keep a journal in my purse because as soon as I get an idea for a new project or venture I want to write down every detail so I can keep track and so I won't forget this new idea. You should always keep a notebook on you or the notes app in your phone handy especially when you are in the creative field or have a creative mind. Keeping a notebook around when working is vital so that you can keep note of the things you are doing. You can get a journal from anywhere but places like Target , TJMaxx or Marshalls sell very cute ones that you would really like. Your journals are your make shift business plans so make sure you always keep track of them and most of the time it's great to keep them private, feel free to express your creative thoughts and ideas and continue scratching things off of your to do list!

My favorite flats for the spring and summer
So let's get into these Zara lace up flats that I paid only $20 for! I absolutely love these they are so comfortable and so chic, I literally can wear them with any outfit. I always come in contact with a problem when I need flats to wear with an outfit because I mostly own heels or boots so when I saw these I knew that it was only necessary for me to get them. I love the mesh accents, the pointed toe and the lace up style. These shoes are fit for spring and summer. Zara now has them in other styles that look very similar but a bit different if my fellow fashionistas want to grab themselves a pair. I love a good sale and these shoes were a great find that I'll never regret!
Stacking is neccessary when it comes to money and JEWELRY
The greatest things to stack are money and jewelry! When it comes to stacking jewelry you have to go big or go home, there are no rules and there is no such thing as too much. With necklaces, rings and bracelets you can mix metals and wear multiples. I know that some people have a phobia with wearing gold and silver at the same time but I see no problem with it, I actually love pairing gold and silver together, they match perfectly fine you just have to wear the right pieces together. Stacking jewelry is great for an outfit, it adds more style and versatility. Although stacking is great it is not fit for all outfits, certain outfits require minimum amounts of jewelry, if any at all, and others have no limits. With stacking you can do a lot on both of your hands and arms or choose to be simple with one arm and do a lot with the other or you can go all out with stacking on your neck with great necklaces and on your arms/hands, either is great but once again it all depends on the outfit and how far you're willing to go. With jewelry more is always more and there's nothing at all wrong with that, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

My favorite accessory!
Out of all of the fabulous accessories in the world that do wonders for our outfits my absolute favorite is a faux fur accessory, I just love the classy and chicness that it adds to any and every outfit. I love fur pieces whether its a fur vest, jacket, scarf or adding a bit of fur to your shoes. I have so many faux fur jackets and vests that it makes no sense and in all colors from black to blue. I feel that faux fur has become my trademark or my "thing" lol, I have been known for the fur jackets that I wear I don't care what season it is you'll probably catch me in one. I feel that just like red lipstick can transform a look so can a fur accessory, whether you're into fur or not there are still faux furs that you can wear that involve no form of animal cruelty because the fur is fake, hence the name FAUX FUR! You can find any of these faux fur accessories anywhere with prices ranging from low to high but it's always worth it and very hard to pass up when you find a good piece! This accessory is great for the fall and winter seasons but just like me you can where them in any season if you choose to because there aren't any rules in fashion and if it is they're meant to be broken!
The woman that wears many hats
One accessory that I absolutely love is HATS, they are a great way to transition any outfit and make it look better or switch an outfit from day to night. I am such a hat lady, I have so many hats from wide brim to floppy in all colors and textures, I even have a velvet hat! To me hats are like a collectors item, you can never have too many. Hats come in handy for so many things especially bad hair days, if you're having a bad hair day you don't have to look like it, you can still have on a cute outfit and just throw on a cute hat. Hats come in all price ranges too. they can go from cheap to expensive depending on where you get them from, but if you're not looking to spend a lot of money you can find them at stores like Forever 21, Zara, Love Culture. H&M or any other fast fashion places like that. Hats are something that will never go out of style no matter what trends tend to come and go. You can never have too many hats in your wardrobe!

Some heels are just essential
As a shoe lover there are just some heels that are just essential to your shoe closet, like a sandal heel, a pump, a pointed toe heel and a heel boot. Each of these are necessary in their own way, but they all are necessary because they are simple and are fit for multiple occasions and events. The pointed toe heel is a very classy shoe and can be paired with anything from jeans to dress pants. The sandal heel is great because it pretty much fits all seasons and all outfits, it is very dainty, simple and chic. the heel boot can be thigh high, knee high or even a bootie and can go from simple to sexy very quickly, this shoe is the perfect way to transition an outfit from day to night. Lastly is the pump which adds height and makes your legs look great with skirts and dresses. No matter the color these types of heels are necessary but always make sure you have nude and black fashionista!
Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes Book Review
I just finished reading Year of Yes by the amazing Shonda Rhimes, everyone knows who Shonda Rhimes is she is a television producer and writer. Not only is she the woman that created the amazing shows Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and Private Practice but she also executive produced shows like Off the Map and my favorite show How to Get Away with Murder, all in all we know that she can write her butt off so me being the bookworm I am getting her book wasn't a want but it was a necessity. This book is about her taking a year to say yes to all the things that she would usually say no to which was pretty much everything except for anything that had to do with her family, she declined invites for everything that she was invited to such as television shows, dinners, balls and anything else that was out of her comfort zone. This Year of Yes that Shonda decided to partake in ended up being a lifetime decision once she realized that it wasn't so hard to just say yes, be yourself, and that it's okay to be in uncomfortable situations, Shonda's Year of Yes resorted in weight loss/healthier living, the release of toxic people from her life, happiness and a better business attitude. I don't want to give you guys too much about the book because I want all of you to read it, but this book is very encouraging and inspirational, it's definitely a read that i would suggest to everyone!

DIY: I Like fur on my shoes too!
I've always wanted heels with fur on them and was very tempted to buy some or pay someone to make them for me until I realized I could make them myself. Why not do something myself for free instead of paying someone to do it for me? I had some fabric laying around in my room from a project I had for my Fashion Design Principles class and a pair of heels that I didn't like that much. To make these heels all I needed was enough fabric to put on the straps of both heels, a hot glue gun, a pair of heels of course and scissors to cut the fabric to fit the strap. It took me about 20 to 30 minutes to make these heels and they came out just the way I wanted, I'll probably make more. A lot of things come out better when you just do them yourself.

New Hair Product Review
So I washed my hair about a week ago and I used some new products. I bought some virgin coconut oil from Trader Joe's for $6.00(it was so cheap for there to be so much product and the jar is pretty big) and I also used a new shampoo and conditioner from OGX. So let me start off by saying coconut oil is amazing, it has so many different uses (such as for your hair, skin, cooking etc.). it enhances your Black Girl Magic or your Womanly magic in general, after I washed my hair I put coconut oil all in it, I put it on my scalp and more in each section before doing my bantu knots. I have been using this coconut oil for days and I absolutely love it, it keeps my hair/scalp so moisturized and holds my curl without looking dry or drying out. As far as the shampoo and the conditioner I don't feel that it really did anything different or better than the Pantene that I usually wash my hair with, but it does smell delightful and the smell sticks to your hair. Overall I love the coconut oil and I encourage everyone to go get some!! The shampoo and conditioner is so so but it's not something that I would go buy myself.

Beyonce's Lemonade visual and album that shocked us all!!
As we all know this past Saturday Beyonce dropped a bomb on the world aka a visual album called Lemonade premiering on HBO for one hour and right after the visual the actual album dropped on Tidal, we had all been waiting for Beyonce to drop any kind of music(Since ya know the first show of the tour is April 27th) especially after she shocked and teased us with the Formation song and announcement of the world tour right before and after Superbowl. Lemonade had all of our mouths dropped to the floor, I am an ultimate Beyonce stan and I'm here for any and everything that she releases. The visual album gave us all of her artistic ability. We felt like we were going through each emotion for each song right along with her, everything was amazing from the creative direction, the overall message of the difficulty of marriage, love, and the killing of African Americans and also how African Americans are prospering. The fashions in this visual album was amazing, Beyonce had on all types of amazing designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Nicholas Jebran, Hood by Air and many more. There was all types of Black Girl Magic going on in this visual such as amazing cameos from Serena Williams, Zendaya, Amandla Stenberg, the mothers of Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin, Blue Ivy, Winnie Harlow and many more. Beyonce is a master marketer and one of the greatest performers and artists every time she releases something she sets a new standard and new level (No artist can just release an album any more lol), she gave us her all and left us with our mouths dropped and scrambling to learn every word of every song that same night(I've listened to the Lemonade album at least 50 times since Saturday lol! I will definitely be at her concert getting in formation right along with her!
