For me and my boyfriend’s anniversary we went to Toronto, Ontario for four days, it was both of our first time attending and I must say that I was absolutely impressed. We stayed in an Airbnb in Downtown Toronto and it was amazing, it is very similar to New York as far as the ambiance, the pace, the views, the fun etc. I truly enjoyed myself and felt we got the chance to experience a lot including: the city, the food, the ambiance, the people, the daily lifestyle and the chance to just have a great time in a new place. I can’t wait to go back.
Since I love a good museum, gallery or art experience my favorite part was visiting a museum pop up called Eye Candy which will put you in the mind of something similar to a 29rooms installation. There were about 7 rooms with different set ups that you can walk into and they were perfect for pictures. The rooms included a candy wall set up, a jungle set up, a movie concessions set up etc. It was very well put together and a perfect eye catcher. We never knew about the place but were were walking down Queen St. that was in a downtown area that looks very similar to SoHo in New York and it was hot pink on the outside so we were intrigued. It was about $15 per person but it was well worth the money, not only was it a photo-op, but it was actually fun to attend and a cool experience to have in a new city. We did visit their Museum of Contemporary art and I will say it was disappointing, there was nothing eye catching or barely anything at all, and two of the floors were closed so we got in free.
Some other great place to visit was Kensington Market which was full of food and shopping and black culture, Duff’s Famous Wings was very good as well. We had other food but I will say that those were the best, it is hard to look for food that is good in Toronto especially when you’re a tourist and there’s no one you can ask for recommendations.
All in all Toronto was a great time and I will definitely be returning and I would suggest that everyone goes to experience it. To watch the vlog of my Toronto trip click here
