The Slick Back Bun May Complete the Look BUT...... Natural Hair Care Tips

I don’t know if y’all are like this but I love wearing slick back buns, I feel like they elevate every look, they make things look very put together and they just add the perfect touch but realistically wearing a slick back bun isn’t healthy for your hair. It may look cute but when wearing your hair in this style too much you can begin pulling your hair out in the back, cause yourself to start getting headaches and cause irritation on your scalp due to dryness as well as lots of product build up from gel or whatever products you’re using to slick your hair down.

After wearing my hair in a bun for a couple of days in a row and wash day comes around I like to give my hair and scalp some extra TLC from making sure I use my favorite products that will have my hair feeling clean and soft, I use a deep conditioning mask to rejuvenate my scalp and add the hydration back that my hair needs.

You truly notice the difference in how your hair feels and how it flourishes when you take great care of it compared to when you neglect your hair or don’t moisturize and nourish it which is why I have been trying to get myself back on the schedule of washing my hair every week and using great deep conditioners and products as well as taking vitamins and hair supplements which are all things I used to do and was doing on a consistent basis and truly saw lots of growth and improvement to my hair.

I washed my hair this past Friday and I used the Pattern Beauty conditioner for curlies and Auntie Jackie’s Oh So Clean Shampoo which are both great products (it was my first time using the Auntie Jackie’s shampoo and I was very impressed), I then used a Palmers Coconut oil and olive oil deep conditioner, then I used the Knot on my watch detangling therapy, and the Miss Jessie’s Baby soft curls jelly (which I didn’t realize was turned backwards in the picture lol) After my wash and style my hair felt so soft, refreshed, and hydrated after being slicked down for like a whole week and my hair in the back feeling strained and irritated.

Day after day I’m learning more about my hair and the fact that my scalp soaks up oils fast and gets dry quickly so I have to pay extra attention to it so that my hair continues to progress and not revert so yes sometimes the slick back bun may be cute but its not the best style for your hair to constantly be in.

3 Things Your Hair Needs:

  1. Attention

  2. Hydration

  3. Moisture
