Recently I made a trip to the thrift store and found some great stuff, including this satin two piece. This two-piece may be meant to wear as pajamas or to lounge in at home, but knowing me I didn't use it for those purposes. Most people don't pay much attention to thrift stores when they really should because you can find some amazing barely used things for very low prices.
This two piece cost me $6, yes SIX DOLLARS! It's an amazing satin material and has a great fit. For this particular look I chose to tuck the shirt into the pants and cuff the sleeves, which gave it more of a "jumpsuit look", and I paired it with heels for more of a chic toned down appeal. I'm so glad that I found this outfit and that I got it for such a great price. You never know where yo may find your next great look so look EVERYWHERE.

There's nothing like an outfit that is cute and comfortable especially for a day full of activities. This past Saturday I had a lot of things planned, and this outfit was perfect because it provided me comfort along with a chic look of the t-shirt underneath my slip dress.
The slip dress and t-shirt trend has been around for awhile now and there's a lot of ways to do it . You can keep this trend plain and simple or spice it up with a graphic tee instead of a plain one. This past weekend I kept my look plain with just a white t-shirt under a gold slip dress, pairing it with black and white platform sandals and a black purse with braided detail and my signature Ruby Woo red lip. Fashion doesn't have to be difficult and uncomfortable, it can be comfy and stylish like this look was.

You ever see a piece of clothing that you just know you HAVE to have as soon as you see it? Well that's how it was when I saw this skirt. I loved that it was asymmetrical and denim. I wore this outfit for a date night which it was perfect for.
I paired my skirt with an oversized white button down and let it peek through the bottom of the skirt and also paired it with my nude mesh boots. I loved the way this look came together and the way the shirt peeked under the skirt and the sleeves were cuffed it added an even more chic look. I kept it simple with the accessories because it was all about the look. I love a good denim piece and this skirt was perfect.

During Nordstrom's Anniversary sale I didn't find much in store, but I did find a few key pieces I loved and had to get, including this beautiful mustard yellow velvet dress. As soon as I saw it I had to get it, it was marked down for about $40 which was in my opinion a good enough price for me to buy it and I LOVED it which made the price even more reasonable.
I felt that this dress would be perfect for me and my boyfriend's three year anniversary and where we were going. I kept it simple with my hair and accessories. For accessories I added a cute lace bra underneath that showed a little bit in the front and added great lace detain, I also added one of my favorite chokers for a bit of edge. For shoes I wore a cute pair of black strappy heels that had clear accents on them , and for my hair I kept it simple with a cute bun. I loved the way this look came together and how simple yet chic it turned out. This outfit consisted of five pieces including accessories, sometimes less is more.

As everyone may or may not have noticed about my style, I love clothing that makes a statement. I love clothing that makes a statement because it can serve as a base to any outfit and gives you an automatic place to start when getting dressed.
I saw a shirt similar to the one I'm wearing on Instagram and really loved it then I went to the Charles H. Wright Museum for an event, and they had this in the gift shop, I knew I had to get it. I love this top simply because it takes everything that Rosa Parks stood for and one powerful statement she made that helped change the world and put it in one word. I paired this amazing shirt with a pair of boyfriend jeans and black heels just to keep it simple and make sure the focus was on my shirt. I've always loved the quote "IF you don't stand for something, then you'll fall for anything" and this shirt definitely stands for something.

When it's really hot like it has been here in Michigan the past few days I like to wear the least amount of clothes I can and still be comfortable, but not melting. On this particular day it was about 90 degrees and way too hot to do just about anything.
I chose to keep it simple with some cute shorts that I distressed and cut a few years ago, pairing it with this cute ruffled off the shoulder shirt, that I caught on sale at Nordstrom. In the heat it's best to stick with thin and flowy fabrics which is why I chose this shirt to pair with my shorts. I also wore an olive green hat I got from Forever 21 , because it was just way too hot to do my hair and it neededto be washed. The shoes I'm wearing are my go to summer sandals for the simple fact that they are so comfortable and with them being black and white they pretty much go with everything.
During the summer it's best to stay hydrated and cool, so dress for the weather so you don't have to go outside and turn right back around.

Dress: Topshop// Shoes: Lolashoetique
Every Fourth of July, everyone wears red, white and blue. But this year I traded my blue with denim and minimized the white, and added a little more red. I kept it very chill this Fourth of July, comfortable enough to chill and eat as much as I want, but still be very cute.
I got this denim dress on sale from the Topshop section in Nordstrom and just knew I had to get it. For my fourth of July outfit I chose to pair my denim dress with a white suede belt, that I took off of a jacket from Forever 21, pairing it with red velvet heels from Lolashoetique. I kept it very simple with the accessories by just wearing my really bighoops that I love and putting on my favorite red lip, Ruby Woo.
I had on only one piece of clothing and a cute pair of heels, my look was very simple and required no effort to put it together. Not everytime that you want to get cute does it have to take hours.

I know that sometimes it's hard to put together a great outfit or a bomb look, but I'm going to give you some tips that will hopefully make the process easier for you and lead you in the right direction!
The best thing to do when trying to come up with a great outfit for the day or any occasion is to just RELAX! Don't overthink the process, because when you do this everything will look and be forced. Let everything come naturally, allow for your inner fashionista to just work it's magic and go with the flow. The best outfits happen for me when I wear something I didn't plan to wear or just throw something together. Even when I try to think of outfits most times they end up different than I imagined because I changed something when I put it on. DON'T FORCE IT!
Never try to go with the current trends or copy exactly what somebody has done or worn. A lot of the times trends are exactly that just a trend, something that has come and will definitely go. You never want to look like a fashion victim especially by doing all trends at the same time. Don't be afraid to wear something because you haven't seen anybody else wear it, and don't feel like you have to wear it because everybody else is. Everything id not for everybody. Fashion is about being yourself.
It always helps to have one item that your whole outfit revolves around and is built upon. Whether it be shoes, a third piece, bottoms or a top, always have a main focus for your look and everything else will just be an added bonus. A base piece also allows for each piece of your outfit to tie into each other, so that you don't look all over the place.
The outfit that you're wearing determines if less is more, or more is more. With some outfits you may have to change or add something to add a little more "pop" to it, and with others you may have to remove something because you're just doing a lot. Every outfit tells a different story so you can't just decide on if "less is more" or "more is more" because it all just depends.
Your outfit isn't just about your clothes. A great outfit also requires the right shoes and accessories along with the right hairstyle fit for that outfit. In my opinion there is a right hairstyle for every look, and if you wear the wrong hairstyle or shoes it could definitely ruin an outfit. When deciding what to wear, just make sure that everything coordinates and flows together, even your hair!
I hope that these steps will allow for you to put together those amazing outfits and just be your amazing self while wearing them. xo
