Never thought you could dress up your distressed jeans? Well you can, and I did. If you ever paid attention to street style, you can see just how versatile people's style really is and all the things you really can do with your clothes and just fashion in general. I decided to dress up my distressed jeans that I made a few years ago with this statement amazing navy blue wool coat I got for $6 at a thrift store and a white button up shirt. I love this look because it is so chic yet still girly because of the red lip that pulls everything together and adds a pop of color. Never be afraid to mix and match certain pieces together no matter how different they are, because it may create the best outfit!
Turtleneck: Forever 21// Skirt: Peter Pilotto x Target// Jacket: Forever 21//
I love a really good printed item all year around, but for some reason they are even greater during the colder seasons! When it gets colder outside it is your time to layer aka you can do whatever and wear whatever you want. I love this asymmetrical multi-patterned Peter Pilotto skirt that I got when he had a collaboration with Target. I chose to pair it with this wool and leather jacket that is so warm and I love it for the Fall and Winter and just a solid black turtleneck. When you're wearing a patterned item sometimes it's best to pair it with a solid color so there isn't too much going on. The main focus of this look was this fabulous skirt which can be dressed up or down and still look just as amazing.

I'm all for being comfortable and fashionable, and for my fashionistas like me who like to hang up their heels every once in a while this is my "tomboy chic" look, to others dressing down or being relaxed may be much different for them but this is my sort of "dressed down" or relaxed fashion. I love a cute skirt or dress with cute sneakers as much as I love a graphic tee with a skirt, it's edgy and it's fashionable. Mind you these are my favorite pairs of sneakers and times I do wear them I like to dress them up. I dress how ever I want and just might give a different type of style everyday, but one thing I can say is my style and what I wear is always a reflection of me and what I like and that's all that matters!
It is very important to follow YOUR dreams and no on else's, it's great to feel inspired by others and be motivated to get your life together and elevate yourself but it's very important that you don't try to implement their blueprint into your life because everything is made for the specific person it's happening to, what works for them may not work for you and vise versa. If you are trying to take what someone else is doing and do the exact same thing IT WILL NOT work the same! It is very important to set time aside to figure out what you want to do with your life and trying to take yourself to a new level everyday, but it's equally as important to trust the process and trust God's timing, you can't expect change overnight but just because it isn't happening quickly doesn't mean it won't happen at all, sometimes God won't bless you with something just yet because you aren't ready and if you receive a blessing when you aren't ready for it you may miss it or mess it up.
One big factor in failure especially with women is jealousy, a lot of women feel that once one woman has it then it's no more left for them, just because someone gets the same position you wanted doesn't mean that you have to stop wanting to do those things, just because another woman has something doesn't mean that you won't. The worst thing to do is to compare yourself to others, your journey is different from theirs and you just never know what someone had to go through to get what they have. Find what you like to do and are interested in and trust your journey, you can't want the success and not want to go through the struggle. Everything happens for a reason.
"It's a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It's all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together." -Alexander McQueen
Dress: Leytons// Shirt: Forever 21// Shoes: Lord & Taylor
Over the summer I snagged this dress for maybe $10 and it's so cute and girly so I just had to get it! It fit a little big and was cut weird on the side but for the price I couldn't pass it up, so for my first time wearing it I decided to wear a white button up underneath it and it turned out super cute! I added some jewelry and a really cute pink lipstick to brighten things up a bit and make them a bit more girly!
I know college is very hard from assignments to just trying to find free time, I am in my second year of college and there are something that I have learned very quickly in these last two years, so I'm going to share my knowledge and give all of you "5 Tips to Surviving College"
1. Staying Organized: If you don't have a plan on staying organized then you will drive yourself completely insane and become very stressed out. Buy yourself a notebook or even use the notes, calendar or reminder apps on your phone! I am a person who literally writes everything down from assignments that need to be completed, what I need to get done everyday, and different business plans and ideas I come up with. Having a journal is my best form of organization, there's no better feeling than crossing things off of your To-do list with ease, you don't want to fill your already busy life up with clutter.
2. Save your money and bargain when you can: In college you learn a very valuable lesson which is the fact that you are now a broke college student and every penny counts. You have to cut back on a lot of things or find cheaper ways to do them because now you're on your own and sometimes you won't always have lots to eat and in college $5 can go a long way and last a long time if you want it to, and getting a job if you have the time will not hurt you at all. SAVE SAVE SAVE even if that means missing a party or 2 or cooking instead of eating out. Me being a person who loves to shop I had to learn to cut back.
3. Don't procrastinate: Even though we all fall to procrastination you have to find ways to do it less because in college you get so many papers, projects, and assignments that may all end up being due the same week and if you procrastinate on doing them you will be pulling all nighters or getting very minimal sleep, trust me it's happen to me a few times! If you have to say no to a party and stay in to do homework then I suggest you do that because they'll be another party the next weekend and the weekend after that you aren't missing anything at all!
4. Get involved: In college it is so important to get involved around campus whether that's joining different organizations, meeting new people or networking and seeking out new business ventures. College is the time in your life when you make the most memories and set the foundation for the rest of your life. Don't stay closed off in your dorm, get out and meet people, college is the place where you just might meet your life long friends. Networking and taking opportunities is very important while in college because you don't want to get to your senior year and not have a plan or a job lined up for when you graduate.
5. Make sure you make "me" time for yourself: In college it's hard to find time to yourself or time to relax especially if you are working and going to school or are involved in different organizations, but time to yourself is vital or you will lose who you are. "Me" time can include taking a walk alone or going somewhere, staying in the bed and reading a book or magazine, polishing your nails or even watching a movie but you need to find something to put your mind at ease and relax.
I hope these tips were helpful and are able to keep your life going a little bit more smoothly, xo.

Dress: Online Boutique( Sorry don't remember the name)// Shoes: Lola Shoetique// Purse: Aldo//
This dress looks very familiar right? It looks like the Rhianna FentyxPuma dress right? Well it's not and I'm not afraid to admit it. It's always better to get a look for less with most things especially if they are still good quality and look the same as the original. I'm the queen of balling on a budget and I love getting more for my money. I got this dress for about $70 back in August compared to the actual FentyxPuma dress that is $325 and they look the EXACT same (saved more than a few coins!). Other than me getting the Rihanna look for less this dress looks and fits amazing, you can tighten the strings to make sure nothing underneath is showing! I paired this dress with some red velvet shoes from Lolashoetique that I love and a red cross body from Aldo, I decided to play around with the red, black and white. You know it's a great look when your outfit comes out amazing and your curls are popping beyond belief!
Yes I love fashion, but I'd like to take the time out to dedicate this post to the best president we've ever had, Barack Obama. I'm glad that I was alive to see a African American man become the President of the United States. It's horrible to see all of the scrutiny he has received just for being black but it's amazing to see how he handled everything gracefully and began moving this country in a better direction with the two terms he's served, there's hundreds of years of damage done to the USA but I'm glad to see that he was able to make some change. Not only is he the best President we've had but Michelle Obama is the best first lady, she is the epitome of grace, class, style, and intelligence, over these 8 years she's taught women and young girls around the world that education is a must and that girl power is something we should take pride in and that we can still be mothers and wives but still have careers and the ability and willingness to do whatever our hearts desire. These past 8 years with Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and their family has been incredible and it's sad to see it coming to an end, they will truly be missed.

Sometimes when you don't want to wear heels sneakers are just as chic and cute. For instance with some skirts and dresses sneakers look great with them such as this loose fitting stripped dress that I got from Forever 21 that I've worn with both heels and sneakers and have loved it with both. Although most of my shoe closet contains heels I have very few pairs of sneakers but I do find ways to fit them into my wardrobe and make them CHIC!

Vest: Forever 21// Shirt: Forever 21// Skirt: Forever 21// Shoes: Shiekh Shoes//
You know its Fall when you start bringing out the fur vests! I love all things fur and now the weather is changing and it's really fall so it's time to bring out all of your fur vests, jackets and accessories (real fur or faux)! I got this vest from Forever 21 last year and I love it, it's super long and has pockets(which is always a plus for me), since it's a vest it doesn't have sleeves but you can always layer with it so that its better for those really cold days. Fur is always so versatile and can go with anything, on this particular day I paired the vest with a t-shirt dress that I just tucked in and a really cute grey skirt and these black and white heels. The 'F' in Fall stands for FUR so get you some so you can slay your Fall and Winter looks!
Shirt: The Life of Pablo Kanye West// Shorts: Levi's(were grey jeans that I bleached and distressed)// Purse: Aldo// Shoes: Lord & Taylor// Fur Shawl: Zara//
This past Friday I attended the Kanye West concert and it was absolutely amazing, which I am not surprised because this is my third Kanye West concert (My first one in Chicago, but seeing him in Chicago for the first time was SO much better because it's his hometown)! Anytime a Kanye West concert comes around I absolutely have to be there because I LOVE him(Him and Beyoncé are two people who's concerts I CANNOT miss!!), this concert was amazing and the vibes there were so great because of him being a great artist and the fact that Chicago and his fans all love him and know every single words to every song plus my seats were AMAZING! I decided to wear a The Life of Pablo shirt that says "You get a fur you get a fur you get a jet you get a jet" and distress it, Levi jeans that were grey and I distressed and bleached them completely, a white fur shawl from Zara and nude heels from Lord & Taylor by Sam Edelman.

Bodysuit: Forever 21// Pants: Forever 21// Shoes: Akira// Earrings: H&M
Just recently I purchased these heels on a great deal of $15 from Akira, and with me being a shoe lover I absolutely had to get them although I didn't need them (You got to love a good sale!). I paired these shoes with a black bodysuit I got from Forever 21 and just wore it backwards because I wanted a shirt that zipped up the front for the look I was going for but didn't have one (I'm the "get the look done' by any means necessary kind of girl lol) and wore it with just regular black pants and these really cute dangling earrings from H&M. I decided to wear these shoes with an all black look because the shoes have so much going on that I wanted them to be the statement piece. With a simpler outfit you always need and want at least one statement piece and I have mine!
From Top to Bottom: Gucci SS17 Milan Fashion Week; Balmain SS17 Paris Fashion Week; Ellery SS17 Paris Fashion Week; Proenza Schouler SS17 New York Fashion Week;
Since the beginning of September us fashion lovers have been getting our lives from New York Fashion Week to Milan and Paris, it has been a month long of fabulous garments with extraordinary designs. From household names like Gucci and Tom ford to Alexander Wang and Christian Dior (just to name a few) we have been mind blown by the pieces they have prepared for Spring/Summer '17. The runways were full of edgy and sleek looks, cutouts, ruffles, embroidery and many MANY textures and prints , I have been loving everything and have been coming up with my own ways of how to remix these looks into my own. Each designer this season has given us something that we would have least expected but will always love and remember. I love constantly being online to see what has been happening, but I can't wait until I'm actually at the shows!
